Dressage and Jumping!!  Join us for a great day, whether you're just in it for the fun of the day or are gearing up for the fall season.

$10 from each entry will go towards CASH PAYBACK for any class with 3 or more entries!  Payback will be split 60% for first place, 25% for second place, 15% for third place.

Schooling Fee: $25 per horse ($15 for horses who are also competing)

Class List & Descriptions

1. Tadpole Combined Test

Dressage Test: USDF Intro B - test may be memorized or read

Jump height: 12"

Course speed and approximate length: 200mpm, 420 meters

Course will be a mix of ground poles and crossrails 12" or less.  Course will be timed but no time limit.
Coaching from the rail is ok in this division only.

2. Grasshopper Combined Test

Dressage Test: USDF Intro C - test may be memorized or read

Jump height: 18"

Course speed and approximate length: 230mpm, 420 meters

Course will be a mix of crossrails and verticals, 18" or less.  Course will be timed.

3. Starter Combined Test

Dressage Test: USEA Starter - test may be memorized or read

Jump height: 2'3"

Course speed and approximate length: 275mpm, 420 meters

Course will be a mix of verticals and oxers, 2'3" or less, no combinations. Course will be timed.

4. Beginner Novice Combined Test

Dressage Test: USEA Beginner Novice Test A - test may be memorized or read

Jump height: 2'7"

Course speed and approximate length: 300mpm, 420 meters

Verticals and Oxers, 1 combination.  Course will be timed.

5. Novice Combined Test

Dressage Test: USEA Novice Test A - test may be memorized or read

Jump height: 2'11"

Course speed and approximate length: 320mpm, 420 meters

Verticals and Oxers, 2 combinations.  Course will be timed.

6. Training Combined Test

Dressage Test: USEA Training Test B - test may be memorized or read

11. Dressage Only - Test of Choice

Dressage Test: any regular, eventing or western dressage test - test may be memorized or read

NOTE: Test MUST be able to be run in a small (20x40 meter) arena.

Show Information

Dressage - All tests may be read.  All tests will be held in a small (20x40) arena. 

Combined Test courses - Standard show jumping course at heights and speeds listed.  All courses will be timed.   Tadpole CT will be timed but there will be no Time Limit (competitors will accrue time faults but there will be no maximum that results in elimination).  Unauthorized assistance/coaching from the rail is not allowed, except for Tadpole level.  Combinations and types of fences will follow USEF Rules for Eventing as much as possible, including scoring.

Derby courses - A combination of show jumps and cross country fences.  Combinations and types of fences will follow USEF Rules for Eventing as much as possible.  Scoring will be penalty points added to the dressage test score as follows:

  • .4 point per second over optimum time

  • 4 points per show jumping fence knockdown

  • 10 points for refusal/runout

  • Elimination at 3rd refusal for any single fence; 5th refusals across the entire course

  • Mandatory retirement for any rider or horse fall on course

Courses will include a variety of cross country fences include bank and ditch (or faux ditch) at all derby levels.  There is no water jump on any course.  Courses in the past contained 16-20 numbered fences.

Course Maps - will be posted (here and Facebook) no later than Thursday prior to the event.  Course Maps will be posted near the show jumping arena and at the secretary's area.  Individual maps will not be printed.

Coggins Requirement - proof of a negative Coggins test within the previous 12 months is required. It can be submitted with entry, prior to the event, or upon check in.  Failure to produce a negative Coggins will result in being asked to leave the show grounds immediately and forfeiture of all fees.

Dress - Helmets are required on the farm at all times when mounted. No exceptions.  Safety vests are recommended for Derby entries. Neat and clean attire, shirts with sleeves and collar, jackets are not required, boots with a heel (tall or with half chaps/jodhpur straps)

Saddlery - we will be following saddlery rules for Eventing per USEF.  Rules are online at usef.org
